Within a few years, Freud buckled under this heavy pressure and recanted his conclusions. In their place he proposed the “Oedipus complex,” which became the foundation of modern psychology… Freud used this construct to conclude that the episodes of abuse his clients had revealed to him had never taken place; they were simply fantasies of events the women had wished for… This construct started a hundred-year history in the mental health field of blaming victims for the abuse perpetrated on them and outright discrediting of women’s and children’s reports of mistreatment by men. —

ALEC is so profoundly evil, and so profoundly anti-consumer, it’s so disappointing that Google supports the organization. What ever happened to Don’t Be Evil?(via wilwheaton)
represenativeofmyself asked: Whats your favorite monster? (in rpg games)
I’d like to take this opportunity to remind the 8 people or so who read my blog that I don’t keep favorites for very long, so a lot of these answers are mostly things I find interesting right now, or maybe things I remember fondly.
I once threw a Bloodrose Swarm (in D&D 3.5) at some players, that was pretty great. They were about to walk into a dungeon-type situation and there were some wild roses outside. A player was like “Ha ha, that would be funny if the roses attacked us.”
And then they did. Everyone was mad at him for a while, but I was planning on doing that all along, he just gave me a great intro.
thanks for writing in.
